Psoriatic Arthritis
Psoriatic arthritis is a joint condition that occurs mainly due to the complications of psoriasis, which is a chronic skin disorder, characterized by red, scaly rashes, roughened patches or pitted fingernails. It usually affects joints in an asymmetric manner but may sometimes also affect joints in a symmetric fashion, similar to rheumatoid arthritis. Some of the common symptoms associated with disorder are joint pain, stiffness and swelling. It usually affects small joints in the fingers and toes. Asymmetric arthritis, Spondylitis, distal interphalangeal predominant and arthritis mutilans are major types of psoriatic arthritis. Immunity, genetics, and the environment are some of the factors that can lead to psoriatic arthritis.
